So my stupid crashed. I didn't have a chance to save certain things either. Grrr. Luckily my digital photos are saved on discs so I still have those. :D
I have played around a little with some light painting using an apple in one set and a toy car in another. They came pretty okay. I can't share them right now because I don't have those photos on my new computer yet (they were on my old one but they are still on my camera). I should be able to get some of them up soon to show.
I worked on the fourth of July so I couldn't go anywhere. I did have enough time to grab my camera and stand outside my place to see them and take some shots. Unfortunately there are telephone poles and wires also in the shots so they don't make good photography shots, just snap shots. I am starting to get the hang of taking photos of them though. Hopefully next year I will be able to go somewhere to get some amazing shots. Nothing else but pushing carts in the icky heat (my job) has been going go. Until next time.
This past weekend I went to a chalk art festival and the people's fair. The people's fair is basically a weekend packed with fun stuff to do and a place to hang, listen to music, eat and spend money you don't have. They have a few rides, people with their tents up selling their goodies, food, drinks, different bands etc. This time I didn't take many photos of the people's fair but took a lot of the chalk art. This is my 3rd year going and I love it.
For 2 days, the artist sit there in the blistering heat (usually) creating their chalk drawings only for them to be washed away on the last day. Very few are in 3D if you stand/take a photo at a certain angle. I wish there were more 3D ones. There is a contest to see who has the best drawing in each category. One can vote via text. A day or two later, the winners are revealed. It definitely takes a lot of time to do something like that and one has to be really passionate about it. It's hard work.
In my photos, under the "Just for show" tab, I have posted a few photos in the slide show (they are the ones towards the end). I should have a couple more things I'm going to this month plus some trying things at home when I can. Until then, have a great one :)
I haven't been able to get out much to do some photos between work and the weather. In June there are a few things coming up that I can hopefully go to and take some photos. I have tried a little light painting/abstract photography but they didn't come out like I was hoping. I was mostly playing around. I might put up a few just to show what I did at some point. Nothing much else has been happening, just getting through life :)
Not much is going on; just working mostly. Living in Colorado, I was able to take some photos of the Broncos parade from winning the super bowl but most of the photos were meh. It was my first time doing something like that and even though my view was great, I didn't have that great of a spot for photos. Next tie I need to be either higher or right up front. I might post a few photos when I get the chance.
Today when I was walking to work, there was fog. It was both pretty and creepy. I really wanted to turn back home and get my camera but I couldn't. I did take some with my crappy camera phone but they didn't turn out as good as they could have. Next time I hear of fog coming in, I will be out there if I can. Below is one of the fog photos. Have a good weekend/week.
I usually don't get sick very much but I just got over a bad cold that kicked me down. Back in October I had a bad cold too. Because I was sick, I didn't do any posting on any of my sites. Today though I took a handful of photos mostly of colored daisies. Below is one of my favorites. I will be putting it on zazzle and red bubble soon so look out for it in the features page. Hope everyone has had a good start to the new year.
So it took me a bit but I deleted a bunch of photos so I can have more space to add new ones and more features. I guess I will have to make sure I delete some before adding more since I don't have the money to have the upgrade version for this site or any other. So I guess I have fixed the issue of not being able to post more photos.
I like have a little bit of money from a job but hate that it takes me away from my photography, writing and other things. I guess no matter what, I will loose something. I am thankful that I have a job though. I haven't been able to do much photography. Part of it also has to do with the freakin cold weather we have been having. Anyways, until next time :)
I went to add another photo/item for purchase and I got a notice that I've reached my limit on posting photos. I can't even post new photos in my photos. There used to be unlimited for free users but now I have to pay and upgrade.
Even though I now have a job, I still can't afford to pay for an upgrade. I am not sure what I am going to do. I may delete a lot of my photos on here to make room. Until then, please go to the links tab and click on the links for Red Bubble and Zazzle to see new products weekly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
So now I have an actual job at a grocery store. It's different than the jobs I've had in the past. I'm still trying to get use to it especially since I haven't worked for someone else since around 2008 I want to say.
Because of my job, I won't be able to have photography as my first priority any more. :( Hopefully someday I can have enough money to frame my photos etc and sell them. As for now though, I need to survive and save money for well life.
I will still do my best to post photos on here, on my sites and take photos when I can. It's going to take awhile to find a balance for everything. Take care everyone. :)
Light painting I think has been around for awhile but it's more of a hidden thing that many photographers still don't know about. I'm still learning it myself.
So what is light painting? Creating photos with light. Flashlights, glow sticks, led's, el wire, basically anything that is a light source can be used to help create a photo. It can be as simple as running a flashlight (or a colored light) over a dark object(s) or creating shapes and abstract designs.
You know how when you go to take a photo of Christmas lights or something like it but when you look at the photo the lights are blurry and are weird patterns? That is a form of light painting. It all comes straight from the camera.
Some people are very creative creating their light painting photos. They also get creative building their lighting tools. They take something like led lights and attach them to things that can be moved to make interesting patterns.
One of the neat things about light painting is that the possibilities are endless. No two photos are the same. It's really fun to see what you can create. There are lots of photos on google and how to videos on youtube.
So not much has been happening. I did go to a festival this past weekend called Taste of Colorado. It has a lot of food stands, merchandise/art stands, rides and entertainment. I didn't get a whole lot of photos especially of food because most of the food that was being sold was out of sight.
In order to get food or even water, you have to buy tickets (15 tickets for $10). The water I took with me ran out quick and I didn't have money on me to get tickets. There was no other way to get water so I didn't stay as long as I wanted. Plus it was kinda hot.
I still have a few things I need to clean up on this site but for the most part I am done. Below are a few photos I took at the festival.
